Students may cancel a class up to one week prior to class and receive store credit.

It is requested that students purchase class supplies at Quilt Patch Fabrics.

Teachers reserve the right to cancel a class if registration limits are nor met one week prior to class date. Minimum 3 students.

Beginner--You've never made a quilt before, or it's been a long time, or you just like simple quilts.

Intermediate--Must be comfortable with basic quilting skills.

Advanced--You really know what you're doing.

This is a two-part class because there is a lot of prep work before you can begin making the bag. Make two copies of the pattern before class; you'll use both copies. Please cut them out before class.

Machine Quilting for Beginners with Darlene

This class will cover preparing your quilt top for quilting, discussions of threads, needles, batting and presser feet and choosing simple appropriate quilting designs. You will use you walking foot and learn some basic free motion quilting techniques to practice. Handouts will be available in class along with suggested books for further information and ideas. The first hour of class will be discussion/lecture then we'll get to work!

Feathers& Drafting Designs with Darlene

Come on, you can do this! If you've been practicing meandering and you can "kinda" follow a drawn line, it's time to stretch your wings and see what other wonderful possibilities there are for free motion quilting techniques. I

Technique Class

In class we will practice three kinds of feather designs and several background fill designs. Learn to draw feathers and learn how to quilt them. We'll also cover how to draft your own quilting designs to fit specific areas of your quilt--learn how to make sure "the quilting makes the quilt.

Please don't let the "drafting and drawing" scare you...you don't need to be an artist. There are tricks and shortcuts and help for those of us who are "art challenged."

There will be in depth discussion of thread and batting and how making the right choices can give you the look you want for your quilt.
