1 1/4 yards of good quality muslin (cut or torn into four 22" squares, starched and pressed)
two- 22" squares of batting (cotton is a good choice)
Size 1 safety pins for basting
Blue water soluble pen
Thread to match muslin (if you have different types of tan threads bring them...50wt, 60wt, silk etc)
Plain Paper- copy paper is great, you'll need 6-8 sheets
#2 Pencil (the old fashioned yellow wood kind we used in school, not mechanical)
Eraser
Ruler- a rotary cutter ruler is fine...6x12 or any size, we'll just be marking diagonal lines on fabric, not cutting
Sewing Machine
Foot Control and Cords
Size 70/10 or 80/12 Sewing Machine Needle (I prefer Microtex Sharps, but Univeral is fine too)
IMPORTANT: Darning or Free Motion Quilting Foot for your Machine
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOUR CLASS RUNS THROUGH LUNCH TIME, YOU MAY WANT TO BRING SOMETHING TO EAT FOR LUNCH. WE HAVE A MICROWAVE AND SMALL FRIDGE YOU ARE WELCOME TO USE. WE ONLY HAVE 1/2 HOUR OR LESS TO SPARE FOR LUNCH SO IT MAKES IT HARD TO GO OUT AND GET FOOD. THANKS!!
